  Tournament Format:

á      Sections based on grade level

á      4 Round Format

á      Estimated Round Times: 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00

á      Check-in begins at 8:15am, Parent/player meeting at 9am.

á      Game in 25 minutes.

á      Based of USCF Rules, Notation optional, clocks preferred but not required.

á      Entry Fee: $10.00 donation requested 

á      Awards following last round.

Tournament Code of Conduct

 

1. I will show proper respect to all other players, coaches, parents, tournament officials,  

    and any person in authority at the site of the tournament.

2. I will shake hands at the beginning of each game and at the end of each game.

3. I will exhibit good sportsmanship during the duration of the tournament.

4. I will know the rules of chess and follow them.

5. I will know and follow special tournament rules.

6. I will maintain exemplary behavior and sportsmanship while outside the tournament 

    room.

7. I will maintain the highest standards of language at all times.

 

 

Special Tournament Rules

 

  1. Touch move enforced!
  2. If players are not playing with a clock the player with the most material at the end of 40 minuets wins.
  3. Players will be paired using a modified Swiss system (age + skill level).
  4. Tie break rules will be used to declare winners if necessary.
  5. Trophies will be awarded based on number of entries.
  6. USCF tournament chess sets preferred. Tournament Director may disallow non- standard chess sets.
